RAF Waddington is the centre for Britain’s global ‘Intelligence Surveillance Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance’ (ISTAR) operations. This includes Britain’s armed Reaper drone programme (currently being relabelled as the ‘Protector’ drone by the RAF), operating from Waddington; in addition to using RAF staff based at Creech Air Force Base in the US.
